Introducing Hydro Jetting​

The best way to clear your clogged plumbing lines depends on the cause of the problem. Plumbing snakes and augers are ideal for slow-draining lines or to remove occasional blockages, such as too much toilet paper or food stuck in your sink drain.

Hydro jetting is a solution for clogs that can’t be cleared or removed using an electric sewer machine, plumbing snake or auger. Heavy sludge, grease or scaling that has built up over time as well as tree roots that have infiltrated your sewer, are some of the reasons to consider having your pipes Hydro-Jetted.

What is Hydro Jetting?​

Hydro Jetting is like a very powerful pressure washer that scours the interior surfaces of your drain lines. The Hydro Jet consists of high-pressure, flexible hoses with various specialized nozzles. These items are connected to a compressor which pressurizes the water to produce a powerful stream up to 3000 PSI that will fully clear and clean the drain of the more stubborn types of build-up, scale and tree roots that a sewer machine can’t.

**Hydro jetting is also environmentally friendly, no harsh chemicals are needed, just water.

Before We Start​

We need to access a clean-out. A clean-out is an area of the plumbing system that allows the plumber to easily gain access to the pipes to clear stoppages. If a clean-out cannot be found or your home does not have one, the plumber will have to pull a toilet to gain access to the sewer lines. Before using the Hydro-Jet, the plumber will inspect the drains with a camera to assess the cause of the problem before implementing any solution and to make sure the pipe is not already damaged.

**If Hydro-Jetting is used as the method to clear the pipes, a camera inspection will be performed at the end to ensure the line is clean.

**Hydro jetting will not solve problems with broken pipes, such as tree roots. Even if cleared, roots will continue to grow back until pipes are repaired.

​

**Hydro jetting will not solve problems with bowing pipes that are retaining debris and water. Bowing pipes will continue to hold water and eventually catch debris until pipes are repaired.

​

**Hydro jetting should only be done by a professional plumbing contractor. Quality plumbers are trained in the use of the system and know what to look for to prevent damage and thoroughly clean the entire system.
